The White Man’s Burden.

Sun Burns.

The idea of a sun burn is mysterious to me. When my friends end up cooked beyond comprehension and are making strange noises while applying aloe gel and sitting in uncomfortable looking positions so as to not touch anything, I am perplexed. They try to describe what it feels like, and I guess the only thing I can relate to is the feeling of an actual burn, you know from an iron or oven rack or something, but it’s not exactly like that, they say.

It’s probably something I will never experience first hand being that god has blessed this body with all of this gorgeous melanin and the most I ever do is get black as fuck. Never sun burnt (burned?). Also strange - the skin peeling. Deliciously strange. Think of me what you will, but I love to peel people’s skin after a sun burn. This is so fucking sick, right? I don’t know why I like it! Actually I do know and that’s between me and the DSM - IV. I was hanging out with my roommate this morning and I saw a patch on his shoulder and my eyes got big like Gollum when he sees the Precious. My roommate was all “get away you freak” but I don’t know why he’s acting like he hasn’t let me peel huge patches of dead skin from his back before.

Oh god this is just sounding so nast y’all. I’m sorry.
